EMX250 red plate for Roan van de Moosdijk

Roan van de Moosdijk will bolt the FIM EMX250 European Motocross Championship red plate to his F&H Racing Kawasaki at the series decider in Sweden after completing a double win at Lommel in Belgium.

The Dutch teenager's second victory of the weekend was never in doubt after he sprinted to the front immediately out of the gate to take the holeshot award. Already leading by more than three seconds after the opening half lap, the sand stylist moved relentlessly clear of his chasers at a rate of more than two seconds a lap to eventually take victory by twenty-five seconds despite a slight lapse of concentration four laps from the end when he buried the front wheel in soft sand. He will take an eleven-point lead to the series final at Uddevalla in Sweden in three weeks' time; it is the first time in his EMX250 career that Roan will hold the red plate of the series leader. Kawasaki also leads the Manufacturers' standings by four points.

Roan van de Moosdijk: "My start was really good and I could control the race all the way. At the end my legs were getting tired and I made a little mistake when I hit neutral and buried the clutch in the sand but we got up again and still had a big lead. I wasn't thinking about the points during the race so I didn't realise until the finish that we also have the red plate to take to the final round. It's always been my dream to earn the red plate and to do it so close to home with so many friends here is also a bonus; my thanks to everyone in the F&H Racing Team, the sponsors, Kawasaki and my trainer because they have all played their part in this."
